NOTD-Planets!

I only did planets on the one hand because I want to do nebulas on the other, but I haven’t had the time yet to do that.

I recently bought some earrings and a necklace from Betsey Johnson that were space themed, which inspired me to do a space themed mani again.

Also it’s one of my favorite looks, though I’ve never done planets before this one.

As with all my manis I used Orly’s Bonder Basecoat and Sec N’ Dry topcoat, this time though to extend the life of the mani I added two coats of Orly’s Won’t Chip.

Base color: Sinful Colors “See You Soon”

Stars: SC “Social Ladder”

Sun: Julep “Madison” with SC “Pinky Glitter” on top

Mercury: SC Winter Wonder

31 Crateris (orange spot on pointer finger): SC “Island Coral”

Venus: (I can’t find the colors that I used on this nail, but it was a orange with shimmer yellow on top)

Earth: Julep “Claire” with SC “Social Ladder” as the clouds and Pure Ice “Kiss Me Here” as the moon

Mars: Julep “Rose”

The glitter I used on each nail is Revlon’s stunning.

Also I would like to apologize about the quality of the image. I take pictures with my phone, which was about to die, and this was the best one out of the dozen that I took. So, sorry.

I was fooling around with Lime Crime’s new metallic liners (Rhyme and Reason), and realised those were made up of tiny flecks of metallic particles instead of regular pigments, which means when you spread/blend them out, you get a wash of micro-glitter that doesn’t look chalky or streaky.

That gave me the idea of using them not as a liner but as a liquid shadow or highlight for a dramatic “wet” effect that isn’t going to smudge. This look uses Reason, the silver shade.

I don’t see a problem. I really don’t see a fucking problem with that. I, myself, can go out with no makeup on and be fine, but for the girls who use it as a confidence boost, what is so wrong with that?

It’s like your favourite pair of jeans. You always feel better when you’re wearing them because it’s one less thing you have to worry doesn’t look good on you.

But aside from makeup being a confidence boost, a lot of people, like myself, use it as a creative outlet. It’s FUN. I’m sorry if my hobby is not as intellectually stimulating as you writing slash fanfic for your favourite ship, but that is how I enjoy myself.

In any case, I’m sick of hearing people go on and on about how fake people who wear makeup are, or how insecure they are, or how lesser of a person they are.
